Latest From Mixit:
Sunday 29th
March was our third year participating in the celebration of Auckland’s
growing diversity at the annual International Cultural Festival. Like
every year, the day was full of excitement, joy, color, taste, music
and laughter with many nations of the world being represented.

For
Mixit, it was a big day, not only because we have grown in numbers, but
this year we also had a fund-raising drive selling our colorful
collection of Mixit T-shirts. We performed on two different stages,
sold those T-shirts, met a variety of people who were supportive of
what we do and are inspired to join us. We also enjoyed seeing and
catching up with all the extended friends and family of Mixit. Overall
a great day!

Thank you to all those who continue to support and encourage us.
Preparing for the Auckland International Cultural FestivalWe
are preparing a performance to take to the Auckland International
Cultural festival on March 29th. We will be using dance, music and
creative ideas sparked over the recent summer workshop. New comers are
welcome to join us!

Summer 09:We
had a successful intensive summer workshop out of which came an
inspiring, uplifting performance. As usual, we had a fantastic team of
tutors and participants with plenty of laughter, joyous learning and
the making of new friendships to fill our seven days.
Quotes from our Wall of Reflection:
‘I have NO FEAR…’‘To
be honest I didn’t really want to be here, but as I made new friends I
could express my feelings and I did not have to be so shy!’‘We learned it is possible to do the impossible…’‘I love Mixit – I really do – seriously!!!’

This

chance to experience working in a few different departments as well as
create their own characters and act in front of the camera.
